Deja Vu? |
When you have more than one child and they speak
to you at the same time, it is like stereo or surround sound.
When your daughter and granddaughter talk to you at the same time,
it is like Deja Vu. The other day, I was wearing a purple
shirt. My granddaughter told me, "Grandma, I like your purple
shirt." Then, my daughter walked in the room and said, "Mom, I
like your purple shirt." Deja Vu?

Speechless |
I was shopping with my 2-year-old son when a
lady came up wooing him and lavishing him with kind words.
Finally, she offered him a quarter and asked for a hug. He
agreed and hugged her. She asked if he was a good boy.
He nodded his head and stuck his finger in his nose! It
wouldn't have been so bad if weren't so cute and that lady hadn't
already gotten everyone's attention.

Age |
When my daughter was in 1st or 2nd grade, the
kids had a paper they had to "fill in the blanks."
One of the sentences read..."My Mother is
______ years old."
My daughter promptly inserted 85!!!
I didn't know about this until I went to her Open House at school
and her teacher said she was looking forward to meeting me after
what my daughter had put down!

My Sunshine |
My 3 year old son is so sweet and loving.
He was in the front yard with his Dad and came in with some weeds.
He was so proud. He said, "Here's some flowers for you
Mom." I had to put them in a vase right then so he would know
they wouldn't die. He is sooooo sweet.

Forever in my Heart |
I have always worked long 12 hour shifts as a
single mom. I remember one day after working a 12 hour night
shift, coming home and my two little children each had left me a
card telling me how much they miss me when I am gone. I cried
because I missed them even more! They were only old enough to
be able to do this and that made me that happiest mom in the world
that day and for always.

Children's hearts are as big as their
ideas. |
Here is one of my favorite moments.
My daughter Leslie and I were shopping at a local department
store. As we made our way to the back of the store, I noticed
there were brightly colored feathers strewn along the aisle.
As we shopped, Leslie sang and danced her way through the store with
me. But, she was also picking up feathers - the bright colors
were hard to resist.
I stopped to look at some items and I noticed that she was not at my
side. I could hear her, but I couldn't see her. I looked
around and found my daughter sitting on the floor, surrounded by
blue, green, purple, red and yellow feathers. She was still
singing and laughing. I asked her what she was doing.
She looked up at me with her smiling eyes
and said, "I love you Mommy and I am going to make you a
carpet out of the feathers!" It brought tears to my eyes and
the memory still does.
The best part of this memory is this: When my daughter went
off to college, I found a few of those feathers in one of her
jewelry boxes. I may not have a feather carpet, but I have the
most important thing: my daughter's love.

Boo-Boos and Kisses. |
Isn't it amazing how boo-boos must be kissed
regardless of where they are? Here's a list of parts I had to
kiss and why:
Dirty foot - Bee sting
Knee - Big Wheel accident
Elbow - Another Big Wheel accident
Tongue - Talking too fast
Bum - Splinters from a Monkey Swing
Finger - Another splinter from a Monkey Swing
