Welcome! I am delighted that
you're here!
Moms are busy people. With so much to do, it may be a challenge to
incorporate everyday reading into the routine, but it is a
challenge worth facing. Reading is a great way to relieve
stress, refuel and, most of all, discover something
new. Here you will find a selection of recommended books that
have been particularly helpful to me. Take a look at what's on the shelf
and let me know if there's a book you'd like to add!

the text. Sections of the book include: Your Child, Age by
Age; Feeding and Nutrition; Raising Mentally Healthy Children;
Common Developmental and Behavioral Challenges; Learning and
School; Health and Safety; Glossary of Medical Terms; Common

Baby Signs: How to Talk
with Your Baby Before Your Baby Can Talk
Linda Acredolo, Susan Goodwyn, Douglas Abrams
|
This practical, easy-to-read book shows you how to communicate
more effectively and earlier with your child using baby
signs. This is not a textbook for teaching American Sign
Language, although many of the recommended gestures are from ASL.
The focus of this book is on developing a non-verbal language
(whether it is ASL or one you create) in order to communicate with
your baby before they can speak. The 20 years of research
behind this book suggests that children who use baby signs are
more contented and become more proficient speakers. The book
is full of encouraging success stories and suggestions for getting
started.

Comments:
There are a multitude of informative parenting books to choose
from today. What makes this one stand out among the rest?
The distinct voice of Fred Rogers; one that speaks simply, with
compassion and tells us we are valued. Parents will feel as
though they are receiving guidance from a trusted friend rather than
overly academic directives from a clinical expert. This book
promotes caring, understanding and respectful parenting that allows
children to learn and grow with dignity.

Overview:
Toddlers do strange things that amuse, annoy and concern their
parents. This book uncovers
why toddlers do the things they do and what parents can do to shape
the behavior. It is simply written and organized for busy
parents who may not be able to read it from cover to cover.
Each chapter (there are 52) describes a common toddler behavior, the
motivation behind it and practical ways to deal with it. It is a
fun, easy read that is based on research and experience. The Secret Lives
of Toddlers is a great resource that parents will refer to again
and again. Borrow or Buy:
