You know, for moms. Or dads. It's for people, really. Except kids. It's probably not for kids.

Oh, girl. Have I mentioned how wickedly evil my daughter was at that age?

Girls figure out quickly that emotional blackmail works. Yes, my boys can be physical, but words cut deeper and she knows it.

She had my eleven year son in tears the every day. She nonchalantly said she loved everyone in our family by name and deliberately left his name out. He asked if she was forgtting someone and she looked him innocently in the eye and said, "no."

So he wacked with a paper towel roll. And then the war started. Arrrgh.

Oh, and just wait until it turns into ,"mom. mom. mom. mom. mom? mom! mom..."

I always thought I would love the sound of that word until I have three kids trying to get my attention at once as I blog.

"Mom!" in whiny tone. "Mom" with attitude. All with pkes and pats on my arms and back to get my attention.

Somedays, I would like a clone. You want another mom? Perfect! Go find someone who will put up with your crap. Hold your head when you are sick. Plan your class parties. Help you make whatever project.

Good luck with that.

Poor Leslie! It's funny, though, in a you-want-to-shake-her kind of way! :) Seriously, as I am sure you know, she is probably doing this because she isn't sure how it's all going to play out when Lucy arrives. She is most likely having some very complex emotions about the impeding arrival of her baby sister, and while she is clearly articulate and intelligent, I would bet my life that she doesn't know how to process or express those complex emotions. That being said, thanks for the heads up. My note to self--have baby #2 BEFORE baby #1 can rip out my heart...

I wondered if the return to Mama had to do with the impending arrival of Lucy. I bet she'll be a fabulous big sis once she sees that your still her Mama, too. And in the words of my 14-year-old son, whose had experience with such things, "Three and four-year-olds suck, Mom". (Said in the very nicest way, of course). ;-)
