I get e-mails nearly every day from companies offering to send me free items to review or give away on my blog. Usually those e-mails go directly into the trash because my blog is meant to showcase my writing. (Don’t laugh. I’m being serious. What I do here can be considered writing!) And besides, those offers are rarely for products I would have any kind of interest in if they weren’t free. But then there was this e-mail about the new CD from the Laurie Berkner Band -
The hottest thing in kids’ music returns! The Laurie Berkner Band “blasts off” with their first studio album in over six years with “Rocketship Run” – a collection of 20 new songs that’s the highly anticipated follow-up to her best-selling, chart-topping DVD from 2006 “We Are…The Laurie Berkner Band.”
- a CD I wanted. We have all of Laurie’s other albums as well as her DVD and we love them. So, I jumped at the opportunity to not only grab a review copy for myself, but to pass along music I’d likely blog about anyway to you.
My review copy of the CD arrived on Saturday – just in time for my trip back to West Virginia. We listened to it – from start to finish – on the way there and again on the way back and it did not disappoint. It was everything you’d expect from Laurie Berkner: brilliant, fresh and fun music I’d listen to even if the kids hadn’t been in the car. I’d love to start listening to Laurie, after so many people insisted that I get one of her cds. I’ve heard her stuff before, but never over and over again like most people with kids get to do!
We LOVE Laurie Berkner! Would love to win! So we can “3-2-1-Blast Off!” together. My daughter just loves her music. We know all the words to most of her songs. “Moon Moon Moon” is one of our favorites and Victor Vito and Freddie Vasco!
