The Truth Revealed

by Leslie

It turns out Lucy did not cut her hair. And Julia’s conscience can only handle about seven hours of deceit.

Her confession came amid a flood of tears, which isn’t nearly as shocking as the fact that Lucy – at 28 months old – never gave her sister up. I questioned her all day about her hair. She was adamant that she did nothing to it, but she never ratted Julia out. The kid was as cool as a popsicle.

I’m not sure what to think of this.

Should I be impressed? Proud? Maybe a little scared?

I vote scared…on so many levels.

I hope it’s not wrong that I laughed out loud at that. I’d be impressed – impressed that she actually came clean!

I’m still laughing! Wow. That is loyalty and devotion. And maybe hard core really smart–she already knows she can hold out for blackmail purposes.

Will and I get such joy over the fact that your life is as real as ours. Keep these stories coming; we can never have too much laughter in our lives. :)

maybe you forgot to ask if Julia had cut the hair? it might all depend on the right questions?

impressive & scary indeed though :p

My best is that she was all innocent like in the video you posted before (Julia that is) and then came clean anyway…

Heh…I wasn’t going to say anything in the last post about what a precocious liar you have (in the daycare I rarely heard kids lie until around 3 years old) and I’m glad I didn’t. She was definitely telling the truth. She did nothing to her hair.

Maybe Lucy didn’t know it happened to her? That’s why she didn’t turn her sister in. Maybe they were happily coloring and Julia just leaned across … snip, snip, snip.

This completely cracked me up. I’m astonished at both girls – especially Lucy. I wonder what kind of game Julia framed it as – can a 2-year-old understand the concept of deceit? Really? Wow… you and Dave are going to have your hands full! It also seems that these girls are gonna BE there for each other! Wooohooo!

  12. Michael (a_diplomat) on August 26, 2010 1:01 pm

Coupled with the last vid, both those girls are smooth talkers :) Yeah, I’d be just a little worried.

  13. Jerseygirl89 on August 28, 2010 12:11 pm

Well, clearly Lucy is not going to be the one to talk to about dirt on her sisters. And you also know that Julia will totally crack. I’d say you’ve learned a valuable lesson!
